🔥 CHATGPT PLUGINS HAVE LAUNCHED!

ChatGPT plugins dropped yesterday and they're awesome. Plugins are third party apps that you install on ChatGPT. They let you do 2 things:

1. Access up-to-date information - "Fetch me the latest news on Trump"

2. Perform actions for you - "Books a table for me at the closest chinese restaurant"

Here's a simple analogy.

ChatGPT Plugins = AppStore.

Devs create plugins (apps). You install these plugins on ChatGPT and use them, just like you install apps on your iPhone.

This makes ChatGPT 100x more useful.

Why is this such a big deal?

One of the biggest issues with ChatGPT is that its knowledge is limited to what it's been trained on. With plugins, ChatGPT can browse the web and access external information!

Now wait. That's not the best part. You can also ask ChatGPT to do things for you too. Here's how ChatGPT books a table and orders food for you (Watch demo). 

Plugins currently exist for:

• Zapier - "Send an email for me through Zapier"

• OpenTable - "Book a table for me at a good Chinese place"

• Instacart - "Give me a healthy vegan receipe for Sunday and order the items for me"

• Expedia, KAYAK, Wolfram Alpha, Klarna and more!

But with good, there's bad too. OpenAI just wiped out half of YC's latest startup batch. Anyone building "ChatGPT for X" just lost their competetive advantage.

I disagree. OpenAI’s going to eat up anything horizontal - You gotta niche down and build vertical. These are some of the best times in history to build in AI. If somthing comes up, pivot. You have the infra, customers and partnerships in place. Go crush it.

🤯 ADOBE FIREFLY - A NEW ERA FOR GRAPHICS?

Adobe launched the beta of their AI Image generator, and it’s incredible. I’ve been dabbling with AI image generators (even built a few) since 2019 and this is the most COMPLETE product I’ve seen.

It nails so many creator problems perfectly. (Kudos to the PMs at Adobe - they've done a great f*cking job)

What can Firefly do?

1. Standard text-to-image

2. Edit vectors and illustrations (this is massive)

3. AI Video Editing.

😵 GITHUB LAUNCHES COPILOT-X

Github Copilot got much much better. It's the AI pair programmer that's making everyone 10X engineers. The biggest feature is chat, you can ask Copilot-X to write code and debug, just like ChatGPT.

Google lanched Bard this week, and ... it's pretty good!

It matches up well to ChatGPT. Here's a quick comparison

1. Bard is free for now.

2. Bard can draw information from the web

3. Bard's as good as ChatGPT for dialgoue.

4. ChatGPT is better for long form text - "Write a story for me".

Bard was google's big release, it's ChatGPT competitor, it's David. But the launch has been overshadowed with jokes and other AI product launches. Google feels hopelessly left behind. But, they’re still a mammoth. Not gonna count em out. Here's to the AI wars.
